Deadpool in "Avengers: Doomsday"? Ryan Reynolds Shares Cryptic Instagram Post
Could Deadpool make his way into the MCU?
An Instagram post from Ryan Reynolds is currently sparking speculation online. The "Deadpool" actor shared an image of the "Avengers" logo – but it's been painted over with another "A" in Deadpool's signature red, which in this context likely symbolizes anarchy. Marvel fans are now debating what the post could mean.
Reynolds shared the image without any caption – leaving plenty of room for speculation. Could the actor be hinting at a Deadpool appearance in "Avengers: Doomsday"? It would make sense, especially since filming for the fifth "Avengers" movie is currently underway.
Approximately 30 cast members have been confirmed so far, including numerous "X-Men" actors. However, it has been clear for some time that this won't be the final lineup. Rumor has it that just as many additional actors could be announced for "Doomsday" in the near future. After all, several MCU stars such as Mark Ruffalo and Benedict Cumberbatch are still missing from the lineup. So it's certainly not out of the question that Ryan Reynolds might join the cast as well. Of course, the actor could also be referring with his post to the upcoming film "Avengers: Secret Wars".
That said, the logo also appeared in "Deadpool & Wolverine". There, a different version could be seen at Cassandra Nova's base. So the post doesn't necessarily have to be related to the upcoming "Avengers" film. Even though the timing fits, Reynolds might as well be teasing another "Deadpool" movie. Nevertheless, the actor is likely well aware that his post would ignite such speculation.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Deadpool will appear in the upcoming "Avengers" films. However, since filming has been underway for some time now, we can hope that the next cast announcements won't be far off. At the end of 2026, audiences will finally be able to see the result on the big screen: "Avengers: Doomsday" is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.

The Next MCU Film: "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"
But before "Doomsday" hits theaters, another MCU film awaits us: "Spider-Man: Brand New Day". Alongside lead actor Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will also return. However, the cast also holds some surprises. The lineup includes Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando as Scorpion, "Stranger Things" star Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.
In a first short teaser, fans were already able to catch a glimpse of Tom Holland in his new Spider-Man suit. At the same time, it was announced that filming for the Marvel blockbuster has begun! Meanwhile, leaked footage from the set in Glasgow has surfaced, showing that an action scene was recently filmed there. Holland also shared some initial photos on his Instagram account, showing himself in the Spider-Man costume standing on top of a tank. Interestingly, the plot of "Spider-Man" is said to take place in parallel to the events of "Doomsday!. The release is still more than a year away: "Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
