Heartache and chocolate: the 2001 comedy "Bridget Jones's Diary", which became a surprise hit, stood for all of this. Two further sequels followed and now part 4 is just around the corner. This will be based on the novel of the same name by Helden Fielding and will be entitled "Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Renée Zellweger will of course be reprising her role as the lovable Bridget. Hugh Grant returns as daredevil Daniel Cleaver and Emma Thompson, who was previously seen in 2016's "Bridget Jones Baby", will also be back. The new faces include Chiwetel Ejiofor and the up-and-coming Leo Woodall, who is best known for his role in the second season of "The White Lotus".

The film will be directed by Michael Morris, who has previously worked mainly in series, including "Better Call Saul" and "House of Cards". The screenplay was written by Helen Fielding, the creator of the "Bridget Jones" series.

In terms of content, "Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy" will once again deal with the eponymous character, who this time has to come to terms with her role as a widow and single mother. She is also having an affair with a man 20 years her junior.

Part 4 is due to be released in cinemas on St. Valentine's Day 2025 - you really couldn't have picked a more fitting start date.
