The "Reacher" universe is expanding with the spin-off "Neagley" – and now the first images are here, which we'll show you throughout this article. But that's not all: The release date for the new series starring Maria Sten has also been set. "Neagley" premieres on September 16, 2026, on Prime Video. All episodes of the first season are set to be released simultaneously on that day, as reported by Deadline.

The premise of "Neagley" has also been announced. The series centers on Frances Neagley, who previously appeared in "Reacher" and will continue to be portrayed by Maria Sten. The official description from Amazon Prime Video reads:

"Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) is a private investigator in Chicago and former military protege of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit. When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice. Using everything she's learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil."

Reacher actor Alan Ritchson joins the cast as a guest star

While Maria Sten plays the lead role, Reacher actor Alan Ritchson appears as a guest star. Alongside Sten, the regular cast includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Jasper Jones as Keno, Adeline Rudolph as Renee, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole. "Neagley" was created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, who also serve as screenwriters and executive producers. Santora previously developed the original series, for which he serves as showrunner. Lee Child, author of the "Jack Reacher" novels that served as the literary basis for the series' universe, is also among the executive producers.

In addition to the details and first-look photos for "Neagley," there's also an update on "Reacher" that fans of the action hero have been eagerly awaiting. The release date for the new episodes of the original series starring Alan Ritchson has now been set. The fourth season of "Reacher" premieres on August 12, 2026, on Prime Video. The first three episodes are set to be released on the first day. After that, new episodes will air weekly. The Season 4 finale will be released on September 16 – the same day the spin-off "Neagley" premieres. So "Reacher" fans should definitely mark this date in bold on their calendars.

What season 4 of Reacher is about

In any case, the future of the "Reacher" franchise looks bright. It was announced some time ago that the series will continue beyond the fourth season. And the series clearly enjoys a great deal of confidence from the executives at Amazon Prime Video: "Reacher" was renewed for a fifth season before the fourth had even premiered. No further details about the fifth season have been revealed. But there's already some information about the plot of Season 4: It all apparently begins with a chance encounter on the subway. Jack Reacher gets caught up in a deadly game – and finds himself facing ruthless adversaries from the highest echelons of power.

So we'll be seeing Alan Ritchson as Reacher for a while longer. However, he isn't the first actor to take on the role of the hero. Tom Cruise previously portrayed Jack Reacher on the big screen. In 2012, he took on the lead role in the film adaptation by director and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, with whom he would later go on to make several "Mission: Impossible" films. Four years after the first installment, Cruise reprised the role in the sequel, "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back." This time, the film was directed by Edward Zwick – and wasn't quite as successful at the box office as its predecessor. While the first film grossed $218 million worldwide, "No Way Back" brought in only $162 million.
