The disaster film "Greenland", starring action star Gerard Butler, became a hit in 2020 - even though it was released in the midst of the corona pandemic. This is reason enough for a second part, which is due to start filming in April this year.

According to Deadline, the production of "Greenland: Migration" will take place largely in the UK. Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin will once again be playing the married couple Garrity. Director Ric Roman Waugh, who directed the previous movie, is also back.

The plot, which is penned by authors Chris Sparling and Mitchell Lafortune, ties in directly with the events of part 1: The Garrity family must leave the supposedly safe bunker in Greenland after the comet "Clarke" has completely devastated the Earth. They embark on a perilous journey through post-apocalyptic Europe in search of a new home.

A release date of "Greenland: Migration" has not been set yet, but a release in 2025 seems quite feasible.
