Fans of "The Witcher" were happy to get an announcement about the third season this week. As the official Twitter account revealed based on two pictures, the production is well underway. One image shows the filming set in a snowy location, while the other one presents the first official synopsis of the season.

Geralt will get onto dangerous ground to protect Ciri and his reunited family. Joining him is Yennefer, who is tasked with Ciri's magical training and therefore accompanies her to the fortress of Aretuza, which we already know from the two existing seasons. As we are used to from the books, the topics of betrayal, corruption and scheming will also be of great importance.

Returning in front of the camera are Henry Cavill as the witcher Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri. Unfortunately, there is no official launch date yet, but a release prior to the end of next year seems extremely unrealistic.
