After Stranger Things: New Netflix series starring Millie Bobby Brown & David Harbour
Plot details are already available
"Stranger Things" stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are set to reunite. The as-yet-untitled Netflix series is a spy thriller. Fans of "Stranger Things" are in for a special treat: The two will once again play a father-daughter duo, as reported by Deadline.
Jack Thorne is behind the new project; he made a name for himself worldwide last year as the co-creator of the acclaimed miniseries "Adolescence." The trendy film studio A24 is also involved; it most recently scored a box office hit with the unconventional horror film "Backrooms." The first details about the plot are already available. The official description reads:
"Disgraced FBI agent turned security expert Matt Wolfe is drawn back into the world he left behind when his estranged daughter, Rebecca – now an FBI agent determined to follow in his footsteps – vanishes on a mission, forcing him back into a field that has evolved beyond him."
Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour: Side by side
Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour will also serve as executive producers on the new spy series. They worked side by side on the hugely successful Netflix horror hit "Stranger Things" from 2016 to 2025. As the protagonist Eleven, Brown played a girl with superhuman powers who is on the run. Harbour, in turn, played Jim Hopper, a police officer who takes the girl under his wing and later even adopts her. Over the course of the five seasons, the dynamic between the two became increasingly complex and evolved into one of the series' emotional cornerstones.
Signs that a reunion between Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour was on the horizon had been growing recently. Just the other day, Harbour revealed in a cover story for Variety that he's working with his former co-star again and announced:
"You'll see more of me and Millie – 10 years wasn't enough. There is a special bond there. I love her. She loves me."
And just a few days ago, Brown hinted at another collaboration with Harbour. "The David Harbour project is sooner than expected," she said on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, adding, "And it's David's idea, so kudos to him."
What now sounds so natural would have been surprising not too long ago. There were reports that conflicts had arisen between the two stars on "Stranger Things." Whatever the exact problem may have been, it seems to have been resolved in the meantime. Harbour also emphasizes this in Variety's cover story:
"It was just a simple rupture-and-repair thing that, once we cleared everybody out of the way and talked to each other, we're fine."

Things are still going strong even after Stranger Things
In any case, the careers of both actors are developing extremely promisingly even after the end of "Stranger Things." We'll soon see Millie Bobby Brown in "Enola Holmes 3." The third installment of the Netflix series about the eponymous sister of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes premieres on July 1, 2026. Incidentally, the screenplays for the "Enola Holmes" films were written by Jack Thorne, with whom Brown will also be collaborating on the newly announced spy series. So they know each other!
David Harbour, who also caught the attention of a global audience in the Marvel superhero film "Thunderbolts," will star in the upcoming "Rambo" film. In the prequel, he'll appear alongside the new Rambo actor, Noah Centineo, next year. He also recently made a name for himself in the miniseries "DTF St. Louis" – and received high praise for his performance. Harbour is even being touted as a potential winner at the next Emmy Awards.
