New Saw Movie Finds Its Director: Mike P. Nelson Takes the Helm

A director has been found for the new "Saw" movie! As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Mike P. Nelson will direct the next installment of the horror franchise. This isn't Nelson's first collaboration with Lionsgate on "Saw". The director has already helmed the upcoming horror film "Beware Boiúna" for the studio, which is set to hit theaters on October 2, 2026. He was also responsible for "Wrong Turn" and the remake of "Silent Night, Deadly Night".
James Wan is also involved once again. Together with Leigh Whannell and Jason Blum, he will serve as a producer behind the scenes. The screenplay is by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock, who have worked on the series "Dune: Prophecy", among other projects. Specific details about the plot or a potential release date are currently being kept under wraps.
The "Saw" series centers on the iconic serial killer John "Jigsaw" Kramer. Unlike traditional killers, he does not kill his victims directly, but instead subjects them to sadistic games and trials.
