50 Cent Confirmed as Executive Producer for the Payday Series

The planned TV adaptation of the "Payday" video game series is taking its next big step: As reported by Variety magazine, rap icon 50 Cent will serve as an executive producer on the project. Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 Cent, has established himself as a successful television producer in recent years and was instrumental in the success of the "Power" series.

It was previously announced that the series will be produced jointly by G-Unit Film & Television, Vice Studios, and the video game studio Starbreeze Entertainment. However, the adaptation is still in its early stages – so far, neither a screenwriter nor a start date nor any information about the cast has been announced. Starbreeze Entertainment is also confident that it has found the right partner in G-Unit. CEO Adolf Kristjansson explained:

"Curtis and G-Unit don't do subtle, and neither do we. This is not about playing it safe; it's about doing the franchise justice with people who are as immersed in the world as we are."

The "Payday" series has been one of the best-known co-op action games in the heist and crime genre for years.
